Ohh! ‘Whole Health not just Oral Health’ Initiative

Our Mission

Our initiative ‘Whole Health not just Oral Health’ , merges three vital causes: improving oral health awareness, improving skin cancer awareness and protecting endangered bumblebees. By supporting these causes, we believe that fostering healthier habits in individuals while contributing to environmental conservation helps to create a more sustainable and well-rounded future. The initiative brings together the local regeneration forum, health professionals, environmentalists, local football clubs, local gyms, schools and local communities in a united effort for a healthier society and planet.

The benefits derived from this initiative have been significant: Increasing awareness of proper oral hygiene and it’s importance in whole body health leading to improved oral health, empowering people to take responsibility for their health, contributing to overall well-being. Prevention and Early Detection. Educating on recognising early symptoms of skin cancer and oral health issues leading to earlier interventions, potentially saving lives. Educating that Bumblebees are crucial to pollination, and their declining population threatens biodiversity and food production. Raising awareness of Bumblebee conservation and connections to oral health through ecological and environmental health.

The United Nations have recognised Oral Health as a priority in their Political Declaration for the UN high-level meeting on the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD’S) and the promotion of mental health and well-being. It recognises that oral diseases are a major health and economic burden impacting 3.7 billion people worldwide. This is a massive win for Prevention and Prioritising Preventative Health Care. The World Health Organisation (WHO) have a Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023-2030) targeting 80% of countries to have operational oral health policies by 2030 which they are integrating alongside the Cardiovascular Plan and other existing initiatives. Finally we may be bringing the mouth back into the body, ‘Whole Health not just Oral Health’!
